Colorful Hello Kitty DIY Halloween Wreath

Who is already wishing for October to get here? I’m seriously so excited that I’m already inspired to start creating. Of course, your door is the first thing people see when they come to your home so it makes sense to dress it up first. This year, welcome them with a new twist on Halloween decor when you display this colorful Hello Kitty DIY Halloween wreath!

I love Halloween! That’s probably an understatement. To say that I adore the holiday wouldn’t be too far off. Even at 32 years and counting, I still get excited to dress up and go trick-or-treating with the kids. Okay, so I don’t so much trick-or-treat as I do escort them around but still. It’s still fun.

Halloween and Christmas are the only holidays where an entire neighborhood is transformed into an amazing display! Even though every house’s decor is different, it still becomes this cohesive neighborhood transformation. I love it!

That’s why I’m already getting started on my Halloween projects and this one combines 3 of my loves: Halloween, Hello Kitty, and Candy!!

Purple Bat Garland Wrapped on Half of Wreath Form

Step 1

First, wrap one length of purple bat garland around your metal wreath frame. You don’t need to glue the end of the garland to secure it. Instead, wrap it through the wires then around itself.

Step 2

Finish the wreath and wrap the second length of purple bat garland around the rest of your wreath. Again, wrap it around the wires of your wreath form to secure it.

Step 3

Secure the last end of your garland to the wreath by weaving it around the wires on the wreath form.

Stacks of Cut Ribbon Pieces

Step 4

Next, cut your candy ribbon into 6 5-inch lengths. (As you can see, I had a lot of fun ribbon to choose from but in the end, I had to go with the awesome candy one.)

Knotted Ribbon Around Stack of Ribbons

Step 5

Stack your cut ribbon together and wrap a ribbon scrap around the stack. Tie the ribbon scrap in a knot on the backside of your ribbon stack.

Purple Foil Bat

Step 6

Then pull a foil bat off of your wreath or grab one that fell off while you were wrapping (that’s what I did).

Step 7

Cut any excess foil off of your bat if necessary.

Step 8

Next, glue your bat to the front center of your wrapped ribbons.

Step 9

Spray your wrapped ribbons with the help of your glue gun. Pull 1 bottom ribbon down and place a small dab of glue on the end closest to your bat. Then carefully press the next ribbon up into the glue so that it is to the side of your bottom ribbon.

Step 10

Continue gluing and parting your ribbons until all of the ribbon ends are displayed.

Step 11

Now glue your sprayed ribbon onto the bottom of your wreath.

Step 12

Finish you wreath by randomly gluing pompoms throughout the area not covered by your sprayed ribbon.
