In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I seriously love bread. Most of my meals don’t feel complete without bread of some sort. I blame my southern country heritage. A standard meal in our household growing up would be homemade fried chicken served with heaping piles of mashed potatoes and green beans. Oh, and those green beans? Cooked with bacon grease and ham.

Believe it or not, my mom’s style of cooking was actually a healthier version of what she grew up with. My great grandma was a true country woman with biscuits always on the table and a bucket of lard for cooking pretty much everything. It’s no surprise that a traditional spaghetti dinner isn’t complete without that side of garlic bread. That’s why I need an easy recipe like this to whip up when I need it.

This delicious and easy homemade garlic bread is as awesome as it gets. The outside is crunchy but the inside is soft and delicious. It’s so good you could totally eat it on its own but you’ll also love sopping up your leftover sauce with it on spaghetti nights. By the way, the leftovers are pretty darn good for snacking too, if there are actually any leftover.

I love french fries. Actually, I love carbs period. That’s why I’m so impressed with people who totally rock the KETO diet. Like, the results look awesome, but the path to get there seem less fun.

If you’re looking for a healthier take on your fries, try out this baked version. It’s still delicious (and not as good for you as a salad) but it doesn’t have all of that frying oil or processed ingredients like what you get at the restaurant.

More importantly you’ll save money. One bag of frozen fries at the store are easily $3.00 or more. At a restaurant you’ll pay at least a dollar for a single serving. These babies only use a few potatoes from a $2.00 bag leaving you plenty leftover for additional meals. Ka-ching!

[bctt tweet=”This easy and fresh homemade salsa recipe is just what you need for those upcoming barbecues. It’s so easy to make you’ll never go back to the jarred one.” username=”diyadulation”]

You already know how much I adore tacos so it should come as no shock that I also love salsa. My favorite is the fresh mild salsa at Chipotle which is what inspired this delicious recipe. The freshness and crispness of that salsa… I could eat it with a spoon and this salsa is equally as good, if not better!

You’ll feel the same way about this salsa. In fact, after mixing it all together, you will sneak a taste immediately. Before you get to it, though, I want to warn you to scrubs your hands thoroughly after mixing up this deliciousness. The capsaicin from the jalepenos gets stuck under your nails if you don’t. One itchy eye later and you feel like your whole face is on fire. Don’t let that happen to you.

After your seeds are removed, finely dice your jalepenos and add them to the bowl with your tomatoes.

Step 4

Then peel and dice your red onion. Add it to the mixture in the bowl.

Step 5

Next, chop up your cilantro and add it to your bowl.

Note:

Jar of Fresh Salsa

Serving and Storage

Serve with some crispy tortilla chips for an awesomely satisfying snack or appetizer. Store your salsa in glass jars in the fridge for up to 2 weeks (longer if you don’t mind it being a little mushy). I used pint sized jam jars but you could honestly use any jars you have on hand. You can also mix this up with some mashed avocados for some fresh guacamole in minutes. How awesome is that? Fresh deliciousness on hand when you want it.
