Materials

Step 1

Remove the tags from your doormat.

Step 2

Place your letters where you want them on your mat.

Note:

  • The stencils linked in the materials are the exact set I used. If you want the same design, use the capital “W” at the beginning and the capital “E” at the end.

Step 3

Tape a box around your letters with painters tape.

Step 4

Paint a layer of white fabric paint over the entire taped off rectangle with your paint brush.

Tip:

  • Because of the material of the mat you want to be careful around the stencils. Always pull your brush away from the letter stencils.

Step 5

Allow paint layer to dry. While you’re waiting, begin painting your flower. Start with a circle about 3 inches from the bottom right corner of your mat.

Tip:

  • This works best if you apply all of the flower lines and details directly from your paint containers.

Step 6

Next, create your petals. To do this, pick a spot on your circle and sweep away from your circle creating a curved line. Do the same thing again a little further down on the circle to create the second side of the petal. (See picture above for help.)

Step 7

Create the inner petal detail by doing the same as you did to create your petal only smaller. (Again, see picture above for help.)

Step 8

Repeat steps 6 and 7 until you have created all of your petals.

Step 9

Color the center of your petals with yellow.

Step 10

Next, fill in the rest of your petals with green. Allow your flower to dry.

Step 11

While you’re waiting for your flower to dry, paint a second coat of white paint on your rectangle.

Tips:

  • To keep your flower from getting messed up when you do this, gently spin your mat around so that the flower is on the top while you paint the second white coat.
  • You will want to use your brush again on this part.

Step 12

Allow your second coat of white to dry.

Step 13

While you wait, put a second smaller circle in the center of your flower.

Step 17

Lastly, add in your decorative swirls. These can just be done free-form in whatever design you’d like. If you’d rather have more structure, you can copy from the picture above.

Are You Losing Out on Free Money?

You’ve probably seen that Groupon now has coupons available but are you losing out on free money because you don’t realize all of the ways to use it?

People love saving money. Even the biggest spendthrift is still excited about finding a great deal. Bottom line: You want to keep as much dough as possible to spend on the fun stuff (or build up your savings if you’re feeling responsible). That’s why most of you already have the Groupon app on your phone. (If you don’t, you totally should.) Now you can save even more without taking up any extra storage space on your phone. You’ve probably seen that Groupon now has coupons available but are you losing out on free money because you don’t realize all of the ways to use it? Stop losing and start saving, especially on travel!

You’ve probably seen that Groupon now has coupons available but are you losing out on free money because you don’t realize all of the ways to use it?

Convenience of One Application

Instead of having an app for every store and coupon database, everything is in one place. This saves you valuable space on your phone for the things that matter like those vacation photos. If you already have the app, you already have the coupons. Simply open up Groupon, click on the coupons tab, and search by store or category for what you need.

Great for Travel

This is one the big ways you’re losing out. Most people don’t think about using their phone apps when they travel but you should. This isn’t just for saving on hotels and car rentals (although you totally can). Here are some other great ideas for using the Groupon app when travelling:

  • RestaurantsWhen you travel you tend to eat out more. Save some cash by looking up coupons for your family’s favorite restaurants. Also, if you’re in an unfamiliar area, search for food coupons by zip code to find out what’s available in the area.
  • Automotive NeedsAgain, while you can save on rental cars with Groupon, there are other needs that may crop up while traveling. If you have car troubles while out of town, search the app for discounts at places like Advance Auto Parts and service centers!

Save on the Everyday

These coupons are not just for clothes and restaurants. They will save you money on tons of necessities too. You can save on:

  • MembershipsFind discounts on memberships to places like Sam’s Club and Amazon Prime.
  • Self-ImprovementGroupon has coupons for items like Rosetta Stone if you’re looking to expand your fluency. You will also find discounts on fitness equipment to get ready for the beach this summer.
  • FinancesGet your finances in order with discounts on Quicken software, Manilla financial organizer, and checks.
  • InsuranceYou know that stuff you’re already paying for anyway like pet insurance and car insurance? You can even find coupons to save on these.

If you’re going to have an application taking up space on your phone it is important to make sure you are utilizing it to its full capacity. With the Groupon app you would also be losing out on valuable savings. Now that you know, how will you use Groupon Coupons to save? Do you have extra tips to use them on vacation? I’d love to hear your advice and ideas in the comments!
