Arrange Buckets

The way that you arrange your buckets will depend on how many you are using. The buckets should be divided into 2 equal groups and arranged as outlined below. Place your groups 10-20 feet apart, the prior for small children and the latter for groups of adults.

  • 8 Buckets: Arrange 4 buckets in a diamond for each group. From the bottom: 1 Bucket, 2 Buckets, 1 Bucket
  • 10 Buckets: Arrange 5 buckets in a plus sign pattern in each group. From the bottom: 1 Bucket, 3 Buckets, 1 Bucket
  • 12 Buckets: Arrange 6 buckets in each group in a triangle pattern. From the bottom: 3 Buckets, 2 Buckets, 1 Bucket

Game Play

Divide into teams and take turns trying to toss the wiffle balls into the buckets. Each time a ball lands in a bucket, that bucket is removed from play. Balls can be blocked by the defending team but team members cannot move in front of the buckets to do so. Also, if a bucket is knocked over during a block, it is still removed from play. The first team to eliminate all of their opponents’ buckets wins.

Step 2

Every other player puts one glow stick bracelet on each wrist.

Step 3

Next, start your game of glow stick tag.

Step 4

When a player is tagged by the person who is “it” that player hands over a glow stick bracelet to the person who is “it”.

Note:

  • As soon as relinquishing the bracelet, the tagged player should take off.

Step 5

The person who is “it” puts the bracelet on the large glow circle and continues the game. No one else can be tagged until that bracelet is latched around the large glow circle.

Step 6

Game play continues until the person who is “it” collect all of the bracelets. That means everyone has to be tagged twice to be out of the game.

Glow Stick Tag Game Variations

  1. If you have a lot of player you can give each player one glow bracelet instead of 2. The player who is “it” should still put 2 glow bracelets into a circle to collect bracelets on.
  2. Glow stick tag can be easily adapted for the pool on hot nights. Everything is played the same however I recommend players who run out of glow sticks should move out of the pool until it has ended.
