DIY Children’s Artwork Display

Kids love drawing, painting, and coloring. They are constantly giving you thoughtful creations of love. Unfortunately those sweet artwork gifts can start taking over your fridge, counters, drawers, and every other available space. You don’t want to hurt their feeling by getting rid of any of it but you can’t continue getting buried under art. This DIY children’s artwork display is the solution. Hang it on the wall to show off their awesome creations and create the rule that you can only keep what they want displayed on it. Older artwork gets filed away or recycled.

Step 1

Give each child 5 clothespins, some Mod Podge, glitter, and a paintbrush.

Notes:

  • If you don’t want to clean up the glitter mess at the end of this craft, give your kids some pompoms instead.
  • Have each child decorate clothespins on a plastic placement for easier clean up no matter which decoration you choose.

Step 7

While they dry, cut a piece of ribbon that is 4-5 feet long.

Tip:

  • You want the DIY children’s artwork display to be long enough to hold 5 pieces of artwork at one time, yet small enough to fit on the wall that you plan to hang it on.

Whipped Frozen Cinnamon Pear Pies

June the month of weddings and we are paying homage to that at this month’s Movie Monday. We were given the freedom to choose any wedding movie that we wanted. I chose the Princess Diaries 2 as my wedding movie inspiration. There are so many traits of this movie to love although not traditionally thought of as a wedding movie. One theme throughout the Princess Diaries movies is that Genovia is known for their pears. In the second one there is even a scene when Lilly, the princess’s best friend, asks if the popcorn that they are munching on tastes like pears. What better way to celebrate this awesome movie than with a delicious new pear recipe? These whipped frozen cinnamon pear pies are a cool summer treat fit for a queen!

These whipped frozen cinnamon pear pies are a delicious summer treat to cool off with. They are great for a party but they are also easy enough to whip up for a movie night. You can totally use movie night as a reminder to your daughters to always follow their hearts. Princess Mia stands up for what she believes in and works hard for it. She proves you can conquer antiquated rules that are restrictive of women. She also reminds us of the importance of putting yourself first sometimes such as when she encourages the queen to finally marry the man she loves. Romantic films are always better when they’re empowering. Now, check out the awesome wedding movie ideas from my friends below!
