Handmade Humorous Zombie Halloween Card

Do you send out Halloween cards to friends and family each year? I usually don’t because I send out homemade Halloween party invitations for my birthday each October. However, I’m leaning towards a more low-key celebration this year spent alone. Does that mean I’m not going to create some awesome Halloween cards? Heck no! Creating your cards is at least 75% of the fun. This year let’s try something different and create some fun greeting cards. First up is this handmade humorous zombie Halloween card. You may remember the zombie stamp from this Valentine’s card but we are completely changing up the look of it today.

  • The inking order is reversed for the front of the card. It helps add a slightly more sinister first impression to the card.

I know that seems like a lot of steps but most of them go very quickly. Plus, the end result is this awesome, handmade humorous zombie Halloween card. A little bonus tip for you: get the pre-folded cards that come with envelopes. Then when you are done creating your card you can slip it in the envelope and it’s protected and ready to go. Materials

This DIY woodland explore artwork is super easy to make. With some paint and glue you will have a unique piece of décor for your children’s room.

Step 1

First, cover your stretched canvas with black acrylic paint.

Tip:

  • Don’t worry too much about painting the edges because they will be covered later in the project.

Step 2

Next, use a ruler to draw 2 parallel lines that are 10 inches long and 3 inches apart.

Tip:

  • If you make a mistake, do not erase it. If you do then you will mess up the black background. Simply re-draw the lines correctly and we will fix mistakes later.

Step 3

Add triangles and lines at each end as pictured above step 2 to turn them into arrows.

Tip:

  • Again, do not erase any mistakes.

Step 4

Draw the word “EXPLORE” centered above your arrows. (The picture already has green paint to show you the difference between the messed up area and corrected area.)

Tip:

  • This is an excellent example of not erasing your mistakes. The first time I drew “EXPLORE” it wasn’t centered so I had to re-do it.

Step 5

Next, cover the pencil lines of the word “EXPLORE” with green paint.

Step 6

Fill in any of the round parts of the letters with green paint.

Step 7

Continue by covering the lines of the arrows with green paint.

Step 8

Allow all of your paint to dry completely.

Step 9

If necessary, add a second coat of green paint and allow it to dry.

DIY Cincinnati Bengals Purse for Game Day

Football season is here! On Saturday I am watching the game with my 2 youngest children and even though it is pre-season, I get into it. I am 100% that annoying person yelling at the TV like they can hear me. Then the most adorable thing started happening. The 3 and 4 year old started yelling the same things I was at the TV… only they don’t know much about football so it would be at completely random times. It is so cute to watch them yell, “Go, go, go!” at the players during a field goal attempt… the opposing team’s attempt. It was a great reminder of how much fun football can be even when you know nothing about the sport. This DIY Cincinnati Bengals purse celebrates that innocent fun with a mix of whimsical buttons and traditional style.

Step 1

First, sew a whip-stitch around your zipper 6-7 inches from the top.

Tip:

  • Make sure that your jacket is zipped closed for this. You are creating a new stop for the zipper so it needs to be above the stitch.

Step 2

Next, cut off the trim around the bottom in one long piece.

Note:

  • Keep this for another project that I will be sharing with you later.

Step 13

Next, sew one end of your strap to the large orange button.

Step 14

Once the orange button is secure, sew the small black button on top of it.

Tip:

  • During these steps, don’t add too many stitches. It will make it harder to attach to your purse in the next step.

Step 15

Now sew the buttons to the top of your purse.
