Make Your Own Food

Food is the biggest expense when throwing a party. Save your money by making your own instead of buying pre-packaged. This is especially true of fruit and vegetable trays. Make your own to save some serious coin.

Football Stadium Veggie Tray

Materials

  • Football Stadium Cupcake Display
  • Football Chili Cups
  • Assorted Vegetables

Step 1

First, put your stadium together. Don’t worry. It’s super easy.

Step 2

Next, chop up your vegetables that need it. Veggies like baby carrots and mushrooms can be served as-is.

Step 3

Fill your chili cups with vegetables.

Step 4

Then stack your chili cups on the bleachers of your stadium.

Step 5

Lastly, add any dips or dressings to the main field.

Create Stations

Create stations that serve specific functions for guest convenience. Start with a drink station complete with a beverage dispenser (like this football one) and cups. Don’t forget an ice bucket if you need it.

Next, create the food stations. Keep like foods grouped together. For example, all of the desserts should be in the same area of the food table.

Lastly, place napkins, plates, and utensils in a section together. I always like to bookend the food with 2 separate utensil sections. This makes it easy if guests are only grabbing a napkin or trying to grab some dessert.

Don’t Forget Levels

Don’t forget to create levels when displaying food, drinks, and utensils. This allows you to fit more on the table and is also more aesthetically pleasing. For example, our beverage dispenser is elevated on a cake plate. I also used the extra chili cups to elevate cutlery and dessert trays. Remember tip one: Get Creative!

Now you can save money and celebrate the big game with these tips to throw a Super Bowl party on a budget. I cannot stress enough how much money you save when you get creative. Festive displays would have cost upwards of $50 in this instance. Instead, I had all that I needed, plus extra bags for guests to take home leftovers, for less than $10! How Baked Coffee Wings are Healthier

While chicken wings aren’t the healthiest choice for your diet, (one raw wing is around 100 calories), they can be make healthier. These delicious wings keep fat down in multiple ways and do it without sacrificing flavor.

  1. They are baked and not fried. Frying food adds extra and unnecessary calories.
  2. The only additional ingredient is the rub. Wings start packing on the calories when you add sauce on them and dip them in ranch.
  3. They don’t include any butter or oil which is common in most wing recipes.

Step 2

Then pre-heat your over to 400º F.

Step 3

Next, rinse your wings and place ½ of them in a gallon re-sealable bag.

Note:

  • You have to do this in batches because you need room in the bag to shake them.

Step 4

Add half of your coffee rub to the bag of wings and shake to coat.

Step 5

Then place your coated wings on an 18×13 sheet pan in a single layer.

A Great Party Food

You literally shake these up and throw them in the over. Party food does not get any easier than that. Baked coffee wings are also easy to make in bulk. No guest will go hungry from you running out. Want to know the absolute best part? Your guests won’t miss the traditional wings one bit when you serve these babies. They are that good!

What makes these baked coffee wings so good is all in the rub. You definitely want to use the Coffee Rub from Pepper Palace. (I’m not an affiliate; it’s just seriously that good.) It tastes amazing. Unlike other coffee rubs, it breaks down great on your wings so you don’t feel like you’re eating grit. We used to have to stock up when we vacationed in Gatlinburg but now you can totally buy it online and ship it right to your door. Talk about a Touchdown! This Super Bowl Sunday, have your wings and stick to your diet with delicious baked coffee wings.
