- Small Lidded Box Large Enough to Hold a Gift Card (I used one from an old necklace gift)
- Pink Tissue Paper
- Quick-Dry Tacky Glue
- 12×12 inch Piece of Cardstock (any style)
- Gold Glitter Washi Tape
- 3-D Valentine Sticker (I got mine at Michaels)
- Gift Card
Cut your tissue paper into squares.
- You don’t need much. 1 sheet will be enough. I used the leftovers from making my DIY Monogram Valentine Wreath.
Take the lid off of your box and set it to the side.
Spread glue on the bottom of your box.
Add squares of tissue paper to the glue.
Continue covering your box and lid with glue and tissue paper until your entire box is covered.
- Do not add too many layers. If you do, your lid won’t go back on. Your box will also take longer to dry.
Next, allow your box to dry.
Add your washi tape to your box so that it looks like a present.
- Start on the bottom of your box and cover it first. Then add your lid to the top to easily line up the top “ribbons”.
Next, add your Valentine sticker to the top, center of your box lid.
Now cut a strip of your cardstock that is 1-2 inches wide.
Fold your strip of cardstock accordion style so that you have 9 small rectangles.
Write your Valentine’s message on the center 7 rectangles (leaving one black at the top and one blank at the bottom). If you want, you can totally steal mine:
For all you do
Throughout the year
Here’s a gift
To bring you cheer!
After you’ve written your Valentine’s message, glue the top blank rectangle to the underside of your lid.
Next, glue the bottom blank rectangle to the front of your gift card.
Allow your glue to dry.
Place your gift card in the bottom of your box with the glued side up.
Lastly, place your lid on the box.
Now you can turn procrastination into a pretty present. Your husband will appreciate the thoughtfulness and you’ll love how quickly it comes together. Your husband can totally reuse the box later to surprise you with an easy gift. You have to love that multipurpose packaging! Planning a date night for Valentine’s Day, too? I’m a nerdy, crafty mom of three adorable little kids. I love writing and creating, but in my non-existent free time I also love karaoke, taking my kids to the zoo, and reading. I got my degree in Science (no idea how that happened) but I took every English class I could get my hands on because, yeah, I’m that girl.
