In case you haven’t noticed, we are in full Halloween mode over here. One of the best parts of Halloween is getting dressed up. In fact, I love it so much that I sometimes sport multiple costumes over the course of the Halloween season. It’s just so much fun. We are currently moving right along with our Halloween costumes for this year. If you saw yesterday’s tutorial then you already know that today I am sharing how to make DIY mermaid Halloween costume accessories. These are so easy to make and since I had all of the paint and glue, 2 sets only cost $3.00! That’s a price tag frugal DIY mommas can get behind. Let’s get the fun started with the tutorial.

Next, paint 3 of your shells blue.
Pour a small amount of gold paint into your paint tray.
Next, paint the gold over your blue shells.
Allow your shells to dry.
While your shells dry, remove your crown and wand from their packaging.
After the paint has dried, glue a green shell to the center of your crown.
Next, glue 2 gold shells on either side of your green shell on your crown.
Add 2 blue shells between the green and gold shells on your crown.
Set you crown to the side and glue a gold shell on the top center of the wand.
Add a green shell to the bottom left of the gold shell.
Next, add another green shell to the bottom right of the gold shell.
Then glue a blue shell between the green shells.
Lastly, glue 2 small gold shells on the wand as pictured.
Next, carefully trim the top of the crown so that it is aligned with the glued shells.
Glue small beads in the indents on the wand handle.
Add beads to the crown as well, using the picture above as reference.

I’m a nerdy, crafty mom of three adorable little kids. I love writing and creating, but in my non-existent free time I also love karaoke, taking my kids to the zoo, and reading. I got my degree in Science (no idea how that happened) but I took every English class I could get my hands on because, yeah, I’m that girl.
