[bctt tweet=”This Mango Habanero baked chicken nuggets recipe is baked and delicious plus, you can totally freeze them. Stock your freezer today!” username=”diyadulation”]

Okay, admittedly, depending how hot you like your spice, these may not quite satisfy that because they’re not crazy spicy. They have a small kick and, most importantly, are absolutely delicious. The small kick is a perk when you take into account that you’ve got a delicious homemade dinner that the kids won’t fight you on.

When I saw this seasoning mix at Aldi, I knew I had to try it. We don’t keep wings on hand a lot though, because the kiddos don’t have the affinity for them that I do. Like most moms, though, we always have an abundance of boneless chicken breasts in the freezer.

That’s when it hit me. Chicken nuggets! The kids always want chicken nuggets and it’s a great way to try out a new seasoning flavor.

This recipe is baked and, most importantly, you know exactly what’s going into them so you can serve them guilt-free. You can totally freeze them too. If you want to freeze them, only bake for 3-4 minutes per side then freeze. When you want to enjoy some delicious chicken nuggets, throw them in the oven frozen for 12 minutes (turning halfway through baking).

Step 1

First, preheat your oven to 350º Fahrenheit.

Step 2

Next, prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper and setting it nearby.

Step 3

Then crack your eggs into a small bowl and whisk together.

Step 4

Add your flour to a second small bowl.

Step 5

Lastly, add your bread crumbs and packet of wing seasoning to a third small bowl.

Step 6

Mix your bread crumbs and seasoning with a fork or whisk until well combined.

Step 7

Next, cut your chicken breasts across the width into medallions. They should be no more than 1/4-1/2 inch thick.

Step 8

Once your chicken is cut, coat a piece at a time in flour. Then dip the piece in the egg mixture and lastly coat in the bread crumb mixture.

Step 9

Place the coated chicken nugget on the baking sheet.

Step 10

Repeat steps 8 and 9 until your baking sheet is full.

Note:

Step 11

Bake your chicken at 350º Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.

Step 12

After 10 minutes, flip your chicken nuggets over and bake for an additional 10 minutes.

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce like ranch or blue cheese dressings. These mango habanero baked chicken nuggets aren’t super spicy (my kiddos eat them without complaint). However, if you’re worried about the heat only add half of the seasoning packet to your bread crumbs. This will cut back on the heat. Dipping them in ranch dressing also combats the heat. The oldest even likes dipping these in barbecue sauce so feel free to get creative.

If you have an Aldi near you, I totally recommend trying their Mango Habanero Wing Seasoning. In fact, grab some chicken breast and bread crumbs while you’re there and whip up these mango habanero baked chicken nuggets. They are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Dipped in some ranch dressing and they can’t be beat. You’ll never want to bother with the frozen bagged nuggets again.

This is great on its own but you can also serve it with fried potatoes for crunch or mashed potatoes for creamy. Both will taste delicious but we prefer the crunch of crispy fried potatoes. Carrots are also a great way to add additional vegetables to the meal but we usually skip them.
