My husband’s grandmother is a very fashionable woman. She has a better wardrobe than me (and absolutely rocks it, I might add). I love creating one-of-a-kind accessories for her which is exactly what I’m doing this year. Because she is a very petite woman, she also tends to run cold so I wanted to make sure that her gift helped her keep warm then it hit me. Duh! A beautiful monogram scarf would be perfect!
A beautiful scarf can dress up any outfit, including a t-shirt and jeans. It is also a versatile gift that is appropriate for many ages. Simply change up the fabric and the pin and you create a completely different look! This DIY is especially great if you have pretty much zero time to create your gifts because it comes together in 5 minutes with a sewing machine. It is the quickest and easiest scarf you will ever make! (But don’t worry; they don’t have to know that.)

Materials

Step 1
Fold your fabric in half (long ways) with right sides facing together. Pin along the edge opposite your fold.

Step 2
Sew along your pinned edge.

Step 3
Turn the scarf right-side out and tuck one end of it into the opposite end of it, forming a circle of scarf.

Step 4
Pin into place and sew to attach the ends.

Step 5
Accordion-fold the fabric along the seam and attach your pin.
Tip
- Be cognizant of how your scarf will hang so ensure that your pin faces the correct direction.
Can you believe how easy that is? Bonus for you if you already have your fabric because then the only money you are spending is for the pin. The beautiful scarf pictured only cost $2.00 to make! Who will you make yours for?

Holiday Budget Update:
In case you’re wondering, this gift makes me come in at $8.00 under budget for Great Grandma and I know she is going to love this!
