DIY Look and Find Book
This is an incredibly simple way to get creative on a snow day.
Materials
- Small Toys
- Goldfish Crackers
- Construction Paper
- Phone
- Small Photo Album
Step 1
Gather a collection of items: small toys, art supplies, and other small objects.
Step 2
Give each child a piece of construction paper.
Step 3
Have your kids fill their paper with small items. Let them have fun with it and get as creative as they want.
Step 4
Sprinkle Goldfish crackers over the scene your child has created.
Step 5
Take a photo of the scene using the edges of the construction paper as a guide.
Step 6
Do this for each child. Feel free to let them dump the scene after you’ve photographed it and make another.
Tip:
- Let your kids keep creating as many different scenes as they want. The more pictures you have, the better you can fill their Look and Find books.
Step 7
Print out the photos and place them in a small, inexpensive photo album.
Tip:
- Be sure to print out multiple copies of each photo if you want each child to have his or her own book.
Goldfish Cracker Mosaic
Make macaroni art a thing of the past with Goldfish cracker mosaics. This low-mess activity will make it easy for your child to discover their inner artist.
Materials
- 1 Cup of Flour
- ½ Cup of Water
- Goldfish Crackers
- Construction Paper
- Paintbrush
Step 1
Mix your flour and water in a small container to create a non-toxic paste.
Step 2
Give each child a piece of construction paper, a paintbrush, and a small bowl of Goldfish crackers.
Step 3
Show them how to create their mosaics by painting flour paste on the back of a Goldfish cracker and attaching them to the construction paper.
Tip:
- If your child wants an idea to follow you can draw a shape or outline on the paper before he or she starts adding Goldfish crackers.
Step 4
Allow their artwork to dry then hang it on the wall to display.
